Me and my girl celebrating Mother's Day |
Well, what can I say but...I HAVE HAD THE BEST DAY!! Yes, I was awakened by my little darling at 5:40 a.m.on Mother's Day, but that was OK, because the rest of the day was FABULOUS!! Thanks in HUGE part to my sister Julyn, Emily's Auntie JuJu.
We had a nice, leisurely morning eating a couple Eggo waffles before getting ready for church. I even got to open my card and gift before church. Emily gave me some delicious smelling body wash and a BEAUTIFUL pair of earrings that she picked out by herself! THANKS BABE! Of course, I have been wearing them all day!

Reading my card...so sweet |
After a wonderful morning at church, and getting a HUGE tissue paper flower Emily made, we headed home. Once home, JuJu and Emily got right to work in the kitchen while I got to relax and watch some old recorded episodes of my favorite soap opera!! LUXURY!!
Emily got to help JuJu cut, chop, measure, stir, cook, and bake their way into making me the most yummy and marvelous brunch!!! I was also surprised by a nice bouquet of bright yellow flowers that, again, Emily picked out all on her own!
At noon we sat down to a delicious brunch of potatoes with smoked sausage, cheese, and sour cream, a yummy serving of Emily's favorite fruits with whipped cream, and the best was a DELISH maple pecan pull-apart bread!!! Can I just say Y-U-M!!!!! It was so special; I loved every minute of it!

After brunch we watched one of Emily's movies, and then headed out to all get our toes done! JuJu and I had gift certificates to use, and Emily got her toes done as well. Fun for all of us! The ladies were so very sweet to her, and man oh man, did it feel GREAT!!
Now Emily and I are just relaxing while Julyn is busy putting together her new outside patio table and chairs!
Last but most certainly not least, I can't let a Mother's Day go by without mention or thought of Emily's birth mother somewhere in China. Without the love and heartbreaking sacrifice and decision that this woman, whom I shall never meet, made 6 1/2 years ago, I would not even be able to celebrate a day like today! So to her I say a very humble thank you for loving your daughter so much that you wished for her a better life! Please know wherever you are that she is LOVED like no other, and she is blessed to be part of a most loving family and group of friends. She is thriving, and somewhere in your thoughts and prayers, I hope you know she is WELL!!! As per our tradition, we have a nice bouquet of six flowers in honor of Emily's birth mother, one for every year Emily has been alive! I say a prayer of thanks every day for the love this woman had for a tiny baby whom she will never see again except for in her dreams!
I hope all you Mothers out there had fantastic days and were allowed the luxury of spending all day with your kids wrapped in the wee arms of LOVE!
