Family Reunion August 2012

Wee...Mommy
Well, we had our annual Schroeder Family Reunion this past weekend. This year it was held at the Grandy Creek/Concrete KOA campground, about 30 minutes from Burlington, WA.

Thanks so very much to my Aunt Lei for all of the marvelous planning and for the use of your house. Since Julyn and I don't have an RV, and tent camping isn't really our thing, we stayed each night at my aunt's house, then each morning drove back to the campground to spend the day.

This place was great! They had a pool, mini golf, a huge jumping pillow, trails, bike riding, magicians, rubber duck races in the creek, big campfires, a little store, and lots of room for the kiddos and Ella (the dog) to run and play!

Thank you Aunt Pam for planning all of the crafts and activities for the kids to do! Emily loved painting a birdhouse, making her own stepping stone, and using her new dog paw print stamps.

We all had a blast visiting and seeing each other, eating good food, laughing, playing in the annual cribbage tournament, and playing Bocce Ball.

Emily loved swimming with Mommy in the pool for over three hours on Saturday while some other family members drove up to Baker Lake with Ella. We all had fun making smores over the fire, and the cousins had a blast playing on the HUGE Jumping Pillow!  Emily tried to get in some practice on her bike, but it was a tad difficult on the gravel roads even with Grandpa's help!

A couple of my older cousins, Tyler and Stephen, and Tyler's girlfriend Suzannah, were only able to come over one of the nights, but it was great to see them and enjoy their company as well.

Enjoy the MANY fun pictures from our reunion! We all had a wonderful time with family and loved ones!

Clark County Fair 2012

Mommy's cute little horse
Well, this past Saturday Emily had her very first experience with a fair. I guess we could've picked a day that wasn't as HOT, but scheduling-wise Saturday was the best choice possible! Yes, we were at the Clark County Fair when it was 102 degrees!!!

Emily had a BLAST going on the Tilt-a-Whirl more than once, the Big Panda ride, the Swings (which she went on by herself), a pony ride, and petting LOTS of animals. She got to pet ponies, cows, goats, pigs, llamas, a baby rooster, and bunnies. She probably loved petting animals and feeding the goats more than the rides, although she did enjoy riding on the rides with her auntie JuJu. Mommy doesn't do too many rides without getting nauseous. Thank goodness for JuJu. Emily had her first fair corn dog, yummy ice cold watermelon, french fries, and some tastes of DELICIOUS Dairy Wives shakes. She loved the peach and cookies and cream flavors.

One of the best parts of the day was watching the Dock Dogs National competition of water jumping dogs! Totally cute and fun to watch! Wow...some of the dogs jumped so far! Cool!

A HUGE thank you to Grandma Judi for meeting us at the fair and staying with us the whole time in that terrible heat! Emily LOVES you grandma Judi!! Thanks for helping to make her first fair experience memorable!

Well, by about 2:45 mommy was not feeling well, so we had to get going. The heat had taken it's tole. I didn't think I could make it to the car. It was so hot, and watching those rides go round and round wasn't helping! Emily, I believe, could've lasted much longer, but our goal was to stay until 3:00 since Emily also had swimming that day at 5:30. Fun was had by all, and next year we'll definitely have to go on a day not so hot so the wee one can stay longer. She LOVED it!
Enjoy,
Kathy

Dance Camp Finale 2012

Mommy's little butterfly
Last Friday was Emily's ballet camp finale, when friends and family could come and watch what the little ones had learned at their week long camp. Emily has so many people that love and care for her, and she was lucky enough to have Mommy, JuJu, Grandpa, Titi, and Belen, come watch her little performance. It was absolutely precious! Emily did so much better this summer than last summer's ballet camp in listening and following directions. I was so proud!!! Enjoy the pictures!
Love,
Kathy

Dance Camp 2012

Sweet girl waiting for class to start
Today was Emily's fourth day of dance camp this summer. Tomorrow is the big day when JuJu, Grandpa, Titi, and Belen can all come and watch what she has learned over the week. Should be wonderful. There are 11 little ballerinas in the camp and all so adorable in the tutus and pink! I am sure I'll have more pictures tomorrow! Enjoy!

Grandpa's 75th Birthday

Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Tonight we helped my dad, Emily's grandpa, celebrate his 75th birthday! For the last three years, we have all gone to the Mexican restaurant Who Song and Larry's down on the Columbia River. Fun is always had by all, as well as too much good food! Emily has fun seeing her aunties, uncles, and cousins, but most of all grandpa and grandma! Enjoy the photos!
Love,
Kathy
