Yummy frosting! |
Hi Everyone,
As usual, December has been a very busy month so far, just like last year. This five year old has a busier social life and booked calendar than most adults I know.
Yesterday, Auntie JuJu and I took the morning off from work and were able to volunteer at Emily's preschool holiday party. It was great! Thirteen 3, 4, and 5 year olds all hyped up for fun! It was fabulous being able to be a "Mom" and volunteer. Since I can't be a weekly "mom" helper, I eat it up when I can help on field trips and parties! Miss Laurel and Miss Crista loved having extra sets of hands.
They had fun coming to the party in their Christmas pajamas, making their own personal snow globe, watching a Veggie Tales movie, marching and playing instruments to Christmas music, eating a HUGE snack, frosting their own cookie, having hot cocoa, having popcorn with their movie, and getting a Christmas tattoo. Emily wasn't too sure about mommy helping other kids, but it all worked out! Needless to say, the former Kindergarten teacher in me LOVED helping the wee ones at their party!
Tonight, Emily played the CUTEST cow the manger has ever seen! We had our annual church Christmas pageant! Emily did MARVELOUS!! She listened, went on stage when she was supposed, did her part as the cow in the manger scene, and was a great audience member during the rest of the show! We were blessed to have JuJu, Grandma Judi, Michele, Kira, and Kayla Black all come to watch Miss Emily! What a blessing to have so many people love and care for Emily! It was darling watching her up on stage as she tried to sing along. Bless her sweet heart!
She enjoyed a cookie, some hot cocoa, time with friends and church family, and overall was an angel tonight!
Tomorrow, it is another special night. Christmas concert at preschool! More pictures to follow!
Love,
Kathy
