Field Trips, lost teeth, and more...

6th tooth gone!!
Emily has had a very busy week! She received her 20th good behavior note from school and has now earned the new trampoline that mommy purchased for the backyard. It just has to be put together now! Way to go babe!

Emily had a field trip with her class this past Wednesday, and I had the opportunity to go along. Emily and I had a very nice boy Myles in our group, and they got along just fine. We rode on a REAL SCHOOL BUS with NO CAR SEATS and NO SEAT BELTS...that was BIG TIME STUFF for her entire class. That was a first for all of them. We went to a live production of the book Frog and Toad. Very cute show and the kiddos loved it!

Thursday at school Emily lost her 6th tooth! It was pulled out by the school nurse, just like the first tooth. Boy was she very excited for the tooth fairy's visit! Another $5 for the piggy bank!

#6 is missing...
Friday she heard the ice cream man's truck going down our street. Yes it was 4:00 p.m., no we hadn't had dinner yet, and yes it was raining, BUT she has never had ice cream from THE ICE CREAM TRUCK.  Every time she has heard it before it was never on our street. We could always just hear it in the distance! So you know what they say...Life is uncertain...eat dessert first! SO I let her, and man did she enjoy it! Then we went out to dinner after that! :-)

Today Miss E helped JuJu and I take flowers up to the cemetery for our mom, who would have been Emily's grandma. She helped get the water, place and arrange the flowers, and said her own prayer for her grandma! TOO SWEET! She is taking a rest right now in order to be ready to go to Grandpa and Grandma's later for a bar-b-que! What fun, a BIG family gathering!

Happy Memorial Day to you all!
Love,
Kathy

Mother's Day 2013

Me and my girl celebrating Mother's Day
Well, what can I say but...I HAVE HAD THE BEST DAY!! Yes, I was awakened by my little darling at 5:40 a.m.on Mother's Day, but that was OK, because the rest of the day was FABULOUS!! Thanks in HUGE part to my sister Julyn, Emily's Auntie JuJu.

We had a nice, leisurely morning eating a couple Eggo waffles before getting ready for church. I even got to open my card and gift before church. Emily gave me some delicious smelling body wash and a BEAUTIFUL pair of earrings that she picked out by herself! THANKS BABE! Of course, I have been wearing them all day!

Reading my card...so sweet
After a wonderful morning at church, and getting a HUGE tissue paper flower Emily made, we headed home. Once home, JuJu and Emily got right to work in the kitchen while I got to relax and watch some old recorded episodes of my favorite soap opera!! LUXURY!!

Emily got to help JuJu cut, chop, measure, stir, cook, and bake their way into making me the most yummy and marvelous brunch!!! I was also surprised by a nice bouquet of bright yellow flowers that, again, Emily picked out all on her own!

At noon we sat down to a delicious brunch of potatoes with smoked sausage, cheese, and sour cream, a yummy serving of Emily's favorite fruits with whipped cream, and the best was a DELISH maple pecan pull-apart bread!!! Can I just say Y-U-M!!!!! It was so special; I loved every minute of it!
Yummy smelling wash

After brunch we watched one of Emily's movies, and then headed out to all get our toes done! JuJu and I had gift certificates to use, and Emily got her toes done as well. Fun for all of us! The ladies were so very sweet to her, and man oh man, did it feel GREAT!!

Now Emily and I are just relaxing while Julyn is busy putting together her new outside patio table and chairs!

Last but most certainly not least, I can't let a Mother's Day go by without mention or thought of Emily's birth mother somewhere in China. Without the love and heartbreaking sacrifice and decision that this woman, whom I shall never meet, made 6 1/2 years ago, I would not even be able to celebrate a day like today! So to her I say a very humble thank you for loving your daughter so much that you wished for her a better life! Please know wherever you are that she is LOVED like no other, and she is blessed to be part of a most loving family and group of friends. She is thriving, and somewhere in your thoughts and prayers, I hope you know she is WELL!!!  As per our tradition, we have a nice bouquet of six flowers in honor of Emily's birth mother, one for every year Emily has been alive! I say a prayer of thanks every day for the love this woman had for a tiny baby whom she will never see again except for in her dreams!
I hope all you Mothers out there had fantastic days and were allowed the luxury of spending all day with your kids wrapped in the wee arms of LOVE!

Muffins with Mommy and Spring time FUN!!!

Me and my girl
Today was Muffins with Mommy at Emily's school. I had a great time with my little darling enjoying a quick muffin, and then she made me a "Mommy Medal." I then took her to class, and had the rest of the day to myself as I had taken a personal day to go to her school. I must say it was nice to have some nice, quiet time all for myself. I only ran one quick errand to get the little Miss four new pair of shoes...yes I said four. She is having a growth spurt like you can't believe. Growing like a weed! Let's just say that shoes from this past Easter don't fit already!!

When I went to pick her up, I also got a card that she had made, as well as a little plant that she had planted herself and decorated with stickers around the planter.

I have also included some photos from the past few days when Emily has been enjoying the spring sun by running through the sprinkler! Listening to her squeals of delight are so wonderful to hear while she is running through the water!
Enjoy,
Kathy
