OMSI

Built her own paddle boat

During the three day Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend, we headed to OMSI in Portland, OR. For those of you who are not from around here, that stands for Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Emily had been there once before on a field trip, but had stated that she didn't really like it. I believe that is because they mostly were there to see the Sherlock Holmes Exhibit. Emily doesn't even know who that is.

She had a much better time this trip. She lasted about 3 1/2 hours and probably would've lasted longer had we not had somewhere else to go later in the day.

OMSI is a wonderful place for little minds to explore, create, wonder, learn, and be a scientist all on their own. Auntie JuJu and I also had fun as well!
Enjoy the photos of my own little scientist! Of course, those of you who know her real well, won't be surprised that the most fun she had was in the water areas!

Warmly,
Kathy

Busy January

Wow...January is almost over and I just realized I hadn't done a blog update all month! YIKES!! Sorry about that. We have been busy getting back into our regular routine after the holiday break! Back to speech therapy, ballet class, swimming lessons, and more.

Last weekend we had a few fun things to tell you about. Auntie JuJu and I surprised Emily with tickets to Disney Jr. Live, Pirates and Princesses Adventure. One of her favorite shows right now is Sofia the First on Disney Jr., and that was one of the headlining acts; that and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

It was so fun watching this really great stage production through the eyes of a seven year old who TRULY believes in all things PRINCESS!!

For those of you not in the "know," when Sofia's amulet glows, that means a Princess will arrive to help her. So, while watching the production, her amulet glowed and low and behold out walked CINDERELLA!!!
Emily's reaction to that was the topper of the night. Julyn and I teared up just watching Emily watch Cinderella. It's as if she just couldn't believe that Cinderella was really there! PRICELESS!!!!

Even though Jake and the Neverland Pirates isn't her favorite show, she does LOVE Peter Pan and Captain Hook, so it was all good when they arrived during that portion of the show.

That same weekend we celebrated my grandma's, Emily's Nana, 95th birthday! Boy, am I ever glad I have her genes! She is so beautiful and glowing at 95! Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you so much! We had pink roses for her on the alter at church that Sunday, and the congregation sang Happy Birthday to her as well! Our family all went to Gustav's (grandma's choice) for a wonderful family dinner. Emily surprised her with a new coffee mug with a sweet picture of the two of them from Christmas morning.

Enjoy the pictures!
