Concert Fun!!!

All ready for the time of her life!
This past Thursday, Emily went to her first big girl concert of her FAVORITE band from the Nick Jr. show The Fresh Beat Band. She loves Kiki, Marina, Shout and most of all TWIST. For those of you not in the know, those are names of the people in the band.

We bought the tickets as a surprise for her months ago. She knew in the car that we were going to a surprise, but had absolutely no idea what. Since anything out of her "normal" tends to throw her for a loop, I decided to tell her in the car on the way there. I only wish I would've had the camera out for that moment!!! When I asked her if she wanted to go see Twist, Kiki, Marina, and Shout on stage, her reply with eyes as big as quarters was, "FOR REAL???" It was priceless!!

Well, after waiting in line and purchasing a T-shirt, a CD, and a light stick we headed to our seats! When the music started she almost couldn't contain herself! Julyn and I had as much watching Emily watch the concert as watching it ourselves! Emily was dancing, singing, and pumping her arms in the air the entire concert! It was the CUTEST thing ever! When they played the last song, Great Day, that they end every TV episode with, she ran out into the aisle to dance! Needless to say she had a BLAST!!! She also wore her new T-shirt to school the following day!

I did manage to get a few pictures for her blog and for keepsakes. Enjoy! You fellow moms of young ones will appreciate this!
Love,
Kathy

Halloween 2012

Mommy's little Mulan
Yes, I know it is a few days past Halloween, but with work, taking care of the wee one, and life in general, I haven't had the chance to show off my little Mulan.

Halloween day Miss Emily got to wear pajamas to school ALL DAY for her party day! They got to decorate cookies, play games, listen to music, and have popcorn, juice, and apples.

After her nap time at school, Auntie JuJu picked her up to go trick-or-treating at JuJu's work. While there she got to play some fun games, get lots of candy and prizes, and have lots of fun! JuJu said that Emily was VERY well behaved at her office and did a GREAT job! She wore her last year's costume to JuJu's work and was saving the new one for trick-or-treating with her BFF Belen!

After mommy got off work, I met them at Titi and Uncle Larry's house to have dinner and trick-or-treat with Belen and another friend Isabel! THANK YOU girls for being so sweet to Miss Emily. She had a SUPER time with you both!

Emily was Mulan, the Disney movie character. Mulan lives in China, where she dresses in her father's warrior clothes in order to keep her father from having to fight for China in his old age. Emily LOVES, LOVES, LOVES this movie and even acts it out while she watches it! It is the CUTEST thing to watch!

Emily and the girls did a WONDERFUL job of trick-or-treating and using nice words and manners at each house! They also lasted about 1 1/2 hours of walking! WOW!!!
Enjoy the pictures! We all had a GREAT time!

Love,
Kathy

Trunk or Treat 2012

Sweet Princess Ariel...notice the rain boots
Today in the pouring down rain, we headed back to church for the annual Trunk or Treat. For those of you who don't know what that is, I will try to give a quick explanation. People volunteer to decorate the trunk of their car, some have games to play for prizes, and of course candy is passed out to all the wee trick- or -treaters. It is a WONDERFUL way to get the community together, and also for people who may be interested in our church to gather and see what a wonderful church family we all are!!

There was free popcorn, free chili and chips in a bag, a huge bounce house (inside thank goodness), and MANY cars to get treats from. The local fire department was also on hand passing out bags with goodies as well. Also, when we came upon the last car on the second side of the church, we were told to go across the street to the retirement home. Well, they also had about seven people passing our candy from their wheelchairs! Very sweet!

So, even in this terrible rain, Miss Emily had fun seeing her friends, and of course getting CANDY!! Everyone thought she was dressed as a darling ladybug since her Ariel costume was covered by her raincoat and umbrella! Very funny!

Enjoy! More to come after the 31st. She has a party at school, trick-or-treating at JuJu's office and then at night with Belen! WOW!!!

Love,
Kathy

Pumpkin Time

Emily and her Pre-K class
Emily had her school field trip this week, and since mommy had parent/teacher conferences, Auntie JuJu got to go along. It was muddy from all the previous days of rain, but I heard from JuJu and Emily that it didn't actually rain the entire time they were at the Pumpkin Patch!

Fun was had by all, and Auntie JuJu was exhausted afterwards, but loved every minute of getting to go with Miss Emily on a school trip! Mommy got to go last year to the P-Patch with Emily's class, so it was JuJu's turn!

They got to do the hay bale maze, see and feed animals, climb the hay bale pyramid, ride the hay ride out to the patch, pick their own pumpkin, and then wash their own pumpkin. Also, one of the highlights of Emily's day was of course riding on the school van with her class and all of them in their car seats from their parent's cars!

After I got home from conferences, we all had dinner and then did our annual pumpkin carving! It was a tad challenging since the pumpkin Emily picked was not the biggest, but it is a perfectly shaped small one and it turned out darling!

Enjoy! I am sure there will be more pictures to come this weekend after Trunk or Treat at church!

Kathy
